My Trip to see BYU vs Oklahoma

Every year, a group of co-workers and I pick one BYU away game to attend. When we learned that BYU would get to play Oklahoma at the new $1.3 Billion Dallas Cowboy Stadium, which game we would attend was a no-brainer. I knew this trip would cost more than what it has cost us in previous years, but how can you turn down the opportunity to see BYU play the #3 team in the nation in a venue like they were playing in, even though it may mean a BYU loss.

Anyway, I woke up at 4am on Saturday morning to catch my 6am flight to Dallas. Arriving at 9:30am, we got to the hotel, checked in and then grabbed some breakfast. After breakfast, we returned to the hotel to rest up before the big game.

At 3pm, we headed to the stadium. Traffic wasn't too bad, and we were able to park pretty close to stadium. From there, we were going to meet some other friends to do some tailgating, but by the time we got there, they had already found their seats, so we headed in as well.

First of all, even though you know you are walking into a stadium, it didn't seem like it at all. This place was decked out and very nice. They spared no expense. Since it is a dome with a retractable roof, it was air-conditioned, with some nice bars and rooms to just chill in before the game. Even the seats were cushioned. We were able to secure some pretty good seats, about half way up in the stadium on the 10 yard line. Here is my view:

The other great thing about the stadium was the jumbotron hanging in the middle of the stadium. It was about 60 yds long and 20 yds tall. And HD. It was amazing. I need this in my living room:
At this point, even before kick off, with the atmosphere and everything, the trip was worth it. I was having a great time.
