Happy Anniversary!!!

A few years ago, Josh promised me a trip for our 15th anniversary.  Well, life happens, and we bought a house instead.  So when we decided we wanted to take the kids back to Disneyland, we thought the week right after school got out might be the best time, which also meant our first day in Disneyland fell on our anniversary.  So we did go on a trip for our anniversary, just not by ourselves :)

Monday, we drove to Anaheim.  We ran into a really bad slow down outside of San Bernadino.  We were moving very slowly and stopping for periods of time due to an accident.  We arrived too early to check-in so we went and explored downtown Disney.  Some of the kids didn't really find that very fun.  We were able to check-in after our exploring.  We stayed at a Marriott for a great price thanks to a family discount from Josh's sister.  When the lady that was doing my pre-check-in heard it was our first time using the friends and family, she waived the hotel parking fee for our entire stay!  We went to Red Robin for dinner since it's one of our family's favorite restaurants and it was right next to the hotel.  After dinner, we swam in the hotel pool.

Tuesday we headed to Disneyland!

We found out the Matterhorn had been closed for the past year and wasn't going to open until Friday. :(  We started off in Fantasyland with Dumbo, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Tea Cups, Pinocchio, and Snow White.

Then we headed to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and ran into our first long line.

Then we went to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Astro Orbitor, Jedi Training, Star Tours, and Autopia.  In the last couple of years, they've redone the Star Tours ride so instead of a generic space flight, it has Star Wars characters the entire ride.

Fischer was picked out of the crowd for the Jedi Training Academy and got to duel with Darth Maul and get a Jedi certificate.  That was the highlight for him!

We had to go back through Downtown Disney to catch the tram to our car, so we took a picture of the Belle lego figurine with the girls in their Belle shirts.
